Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 Gets SmartThings Find feature to help users find unfair wear: Report

Galaxy Watch 3 smartwatch has received a firmware update that will bring SmartThings Find feature that will help users find devices that are faulty. This feature was previously available on Samsung smartphones, and now its support has expanded to the consumption offered by the South Korean tech giant. The update also brings better Samsung health functionality, and a group walkthrough challenge. There is also an update that allows the smartwatch to detect when the wearers start washing their hands. It was reported that the SmartThings Find feature has been introduced to the Galaxy Watch 2 as well.

According to a report by TizenHelp, the update for Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 carries the R840XXU1BUA8 firmware version. It is available for download in India, South Korea and USA. According to the changelog shown in the thumbnail shared with the release, the update file is 74MB in size. It can be downloaded from the Galaxy Wearable app. The update will bring SmartThings Find feature that is helpful for locating Samsung Galaxy devices such as smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, and earbuds.

SmartThings Find uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and ultra-wideband (UWB) technologies to help locate devices. The service can be used even if the missing Galaxy device is offline, as long as it has enough battery to turn off Bluetooth and UWB signals. An earlier report suggests that Samsung has already released the feature for the Galaxy Watch 2.

In addition to the SmartThings Find feature, the update also improves the stability of Samsung Galaxy Watch 3. Samsung’s health function has been improved under which consumers can enjoy a group walking challenge with friends. He also contributes several fitness programs for homework. Additionally, if consumers download the Hand Wash app, the smartwatch can automatically detect when they start washing their hands. This will help them develop a healthy use of hand washing during COVID-19.
