MS Ashdod’s goalkeeper, Roi Mishpati, is expected to undergo hernia surgery and as a result, ONE has learned that Omar Egozi will return to the club and serve as the second goalkeeper for Yoav Grafi. My 28-year-old son started the season as the team’s first goalkeeper, but an injury from December in the groin area turned into inflammation in the lower abdominal muscles and later also in athletes.

The goalkeeper underwent a number of treatments, a massive rehabilitation and returned to training, but the injury bothered him and came back, when in between he also managed to catch and recover from the corona virus. Such treatments were not one hundred percent successful and did not lead to a full recovery. Because of this, the doctor he went to for counseling recommended surgery as the quickest and best way to get back into activity and it seems that this is what the goalie will do.

The club recently released Ron Shoshan, who was the third goalkeeper, to Hapoel Rishon Lezion, and in recent games it was the young Raz Zaguri who served as the additional goalkeeper on the bench. It has now been decided that due to the imminent surgery of Mishpati and the time of his recovery, the 23-year-old Egozi will return to the staff of Ran Ben Shimon. As you may recall, the young goalkeeper only left Ashdod this summer after ending his contract at the club and signing with Hapoel Kfar Shalem, but will now do the opposite and return to the club from the port city.
