The director general of the Basketball Association, Yaakov Ben-Shoshan, sent a letter today (Tuesday) to the director general of the Ministry of Health and the director general of the Ministry of Culture and Sports requesting permission to enter the State Cup semifinals on February 11 at the Shlomo Group Hall.
The hall has 3,400 seats, with the request being to bring in up to 700 fans. Ben-Shoshan wrote: “This is a traditional event that has been held in Israel for more than 50 years and has received much publicity and exposure. We ask for your permission to turn this game into a pilot spring for bringing a small number of people into the hall.”

Ben-Shoshan continued: “We will be responsible for making sure that everyone present is listed in the basketball association in advance and declares that he is not ill, suffering from symptoms, etc. Each attendee sat throughout his stay with a face mask and at least two chairs away from him. Except for the members of the same house. ” It was also written: “We see great importance in the possibility of trying to bring Israeli sports back to routine on this special evening and we are ready to take responsibility for this experience and ensure that it is carried out in the best possible way.”
As you may recall, the four teams that reached the semifinals are Hapoel Jerusalem, Hapoel Holon, Maccabi Rishon Lezion and Maccabi Tel Aviv. At the request of the teams about a month ago, it was decided to postpone the final game to April in an attempt to split the event into two.
