The director general of the Basketball Association, Yaakov Ben-Shoshan, today (Tuesday) sent a letter to the director general of the Ministry of Health, Prof. Hezi Levy, and to the director general of the Ministry of Culture and Sports, Raz Froelich, requesting permission to invite spectators to next week’s State Cup games. The Hapoel Jerusalem Cup will play against Maccabi Rishon Lezion and Maccabi Tel Aviv will play against Hapoel Holon.

The letter reads, among other things: “This is a traditional event that has been held in Israel for more than 20 years and is widely publicized and exposed. We ask for your permission to turn this game into a kind of pilot for bringing an audience in a limited number into the hall. The games will take place in the Heichal Kvutzat Shlomo hall in Tel Aviv. We would like to accommodate up to 700 people in each of the games, in a hall with a capacity of 3,400 seats. We will be responsible for making sure that everyone present is listed in advance and declares that he is not ill. ‘”.
