UK Covid live: Changing South African issues reported in Surrey frighten community dispersal | Politics

I know that people will be upset to hear that a member of our community contracted the South African virus last month. I am very pleased that they have recovered from full recovery and I want to thank them for staying at home in the period of self-isolation that should have helped reduce the spread.

I urge people living or working in the area with or without test marks to identify any other people with this variant to protect them, their loved ones and community at large.

The government has told us that there is currently no evidence that this variant causes a more serious illness or that the regulated vaccine would not protect against it.

In addition to having a test or other necessary reasons, all residents are urged to follow the locking rules and stay at home, wash your hands regularly, keep your distance from others and wear a face mask.
