The race to break away from the wires continues: Shiomi announced this weekend a new charging technology, called Mi Air Charge, that will allow you to charge a smartphone battery with a maximum power of up to 5 watts, without the use of cables and without charging stations.
“Charge several devices at the same time while you are playing, spinning or even when something is in your way, without a wired connection,” Shiomi tweeted on its official Twitter page. How does it work? Directly to devices.
The waves emitted by the transmitter are received with the help of 14 other antennas that will be integrated in supporting products, and will convert the signals into energy that will be able to charge the device. But, at least for now, this is a technology that will charge a standard smartphone in a very slow way, which can take hours as well.

Shiomi is investing considerable development efforts in the field of wireless charging, and it is a technology that may completely change the world we know by launching energy through air – regardless of wires or charging surfaces. At this point, the Chinese technology giant has not revealed any further details about the product – such as the charging range or the type of frequency on which the signals will be based.
