One of WWE ‘s greatest ever Superstars, John Cena, apparently was not too optimistic about WWE’ s decision to hire AJ Styles, Bobby Roode, and James Storm. He said WWE was able to create its own stars.
John Cena is one of, if not the greatest creation of the WWE creative team. Cena is the most successful WWE Superstar inside and outside the ring, having won many competitions.
Speaking on his podcast, The ARN Show, Arn Anderson recalled his conversation with John Cena when WWE was expecting some of TNA’s top stars (now IMPACT) like AJ Styles, Bobby Roode, and the introduction of James Storm.
He remembered the Head of the Cenation looking at him and saying, “We make our own stars.”
“John sat down. I don’t remember the year, but I felt things were getting a little weird. WWE needed to flow in not just bodies and people coming from NXT, but experienced veterans. I sat down with John and said, ‘You know John, there are some people with the other company and we can make steel and work with you.’ My conversation was Bobby Roode, Cowboy (James Storm), and AJ Styles.I said, ‘These people can go.I’m talking about chat shelf actors and they refresh everything. ’It looked right to me in the eye and at this point John had a 100% stroke, power, that was to call it all connected He said, ‘Why would we want these people? We’ll make our own stars.’ “
John Cena is currently away working in Hollywood and focusing on other business ventures. He appears occasionally on WWE television, but has yet to do so this year.
John Cena and AJ Styles had some of the best games ever
Despite not wanting AJ Styles to join WWE, the Head of Cenation now has great respect for the Phenomenal One. Both Superstars have had some great games, especially their WWE Championship game at the Royal Rumble in 2017.
While John Cena rarely appears on WWE today, it would be great to see him get into the ring with fellow AJ Styles veterans again. Would you like to see the Phenomenal One go against John Cena once again? Let us know below.
