Netflix is testing out a mobile feature for Android that lets users set a timer for the time they would like to watch a series or movie.
The tool allows viewers to set the timer for 15, 30, or 45 minutes, or simply “finish the show” so they don’t miss the spot, with the title ending at the named minute signal when enabled. The news was reported earlier by The edge. A spokesman for Netflix told Gizmodo in an emailed statement that the company is “always looking for new ways to improve Netflix’s mobile experience.”
“This test is the latest example – a new timer that gives members more control over the viewing experience by simply selecting their favorite show or movie and setting a timer without having to worry about stop before it is over, ”said the spokesperson. “We will be testing these tests and we will not extend the feature if we find that it improves the experience of the members.”
This feature is only available on select Android devices and is currently limited to adult profiles – although it’s easy to see how it could be a great option for parents who want to limit screen time. for their children.
