Extract of Mangrove Tree may help in treating Baldness, Find Studies

Researchers in Thailand believe that a mangrove tree extract could help treat baldness.

The extract, called Avicequinon C, was found to stop the body from making hormones that can cause hair loss.

To date, the research team at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Chulalongkorn University has tested the proportion of a group of 50 men and women with androgenic alopecia, the most common form of hair loss.

Participants had made noticeable improvements after a month, and wmoreover, the treatment seemed to not only stop hair loss, but also promote hair growth.

This means that it could help people who have lost more than their fair share of hair.

The next step is to test the portion on more volunteers, until it is approved by the Thai Food and Drug Administration.

If approved, a private company has already purchased the research patent, which it can use to improve hair loss results.

Professor Wanchai Deeknamkul, from the faculty of Pharmacognosy and Pharmaceutical Botany, said: “We have found that it has many benefits. First, it stops the enzymes from secretion of hair loss hormones and secondly, it may help in the production of the protein that stimulates hair growth.

“We photographed the heads of the volunteers in all areas and also used a microscope to look at the hair loss area to examine the nature of hair loss and order after a month and the same process. -report for four consecutive months.

“We compared pictures of the same place and found that just after a month, participants showed positive changes with an improvement in hair strength that also adheres well to the skin, while none showed any the participants no emotional reaction. ”

He said its natural product could be a more desirable option than synthetic alternatives.

He explained: “We scoured over 50 herbal extracts and over 20 pure ingredients and found that the active ingredient Avicequinone C is in Avicennia Marin extract, which inhibits the enzyme that secretes making hair loss hormones.

“Also, Avicennia Marin extract helps to build proteins that promote hair growth as well. Thus helps to solve hair loss problem completely.

“There are a number of cosmeceutical products that claim to treat hair loss mainly including drugs made with chemicals. Which may cause side effects that are not specifically require allergic reactions and inflammation of the skin and which affect the body system.

“Furthermore, almost all of them have been scientifically tested or studied to test the mechanism of action of the materials used.

“In the past, we have imported synthetic drugs from foreign countries both conventional and oral medicine, but these only showed results at 30 per cent and 48 per cent respectively. .In addition, the side effects were much greater.

“Thus, extracts from the Avicennia Marin plants found in Thai mangrove forests reduce the import of these synthetic drugs. It may be an export product that creates market value for the country as well. ”
