The Israel Police continues the national struggle to curb the spread of the Corona virus and starting today at midnight and over the coming weekend will deploy tightened barriers throughout the country and the police will increase the monitoring and enforcement activities of the Corona regulations with an emphasis on traffic, trade and congestion throughout the country.
Over the weekend, police activity will be intensified by thousands of Israeli police officers working throughout the country. In the shadow of the current state of national emergency and in order to maintain public health and prevent mass infection – most police activity will focus on supervising and enforcing regulations with an emphasis on prohibited gatherings, restrictions on traffic and trade and compliance with the isolation obligation throughout the country. The purpose of the police activity and preparation is to prevent mass infection by gathering and prohibiting citizens from entering the public space in violation of regulations.
The police call on the entire public to avoid a prohibited gathering and going out into the public space unnecessarily and to adhere to the guidelines in full, all in order to avoid the need for enforcement and succeed in the national challenge of lowering the morbidity rate to return to routine soon.
In the intercity space, 24 traffic barriers will operate, and traffic will be enforced in the other axes by motorized patrols of the traffic division police. In the urban area, many skipping checkpoints will be set up that will operate alongside tours within the settlements. The police will increase the activities initiated for supervision and enforcement, both in the long-distance space and within the settlements themselves, through fixed and skipping checkpoints, motorized patrols and legs, reinforcing stations and enforcement forces, increased operation of the police air unit and more.
