(NYSE: NVMI) has announced the receipt of a number of purchase orders from a number of leading chip manufacturers in the world in the fields of logic and foundry, for materials measurement solutions provided by the company, in the amount of over $ 23 million. With this announcement, Nova completes a move in which the company’s solutions in the field of material measurement have been adopted by the world’s leading chip manufacturers and position its position.

The orders are for the material measurement platform Nova’s VERAFLEX, which provides technology for measuring the thickness and composition of materials in extremely thin layers in controlling chip manufacturing processes using existing and future manufacturing technologies. As part of the orders received, Nova will also provide customers with its new x-ray platform, Nova’s VERAFLEX IV which offers significant improvements in measurement outputs and speeds, while maintaining high levels of accuracy, and extending the range of tests that can be performed within the computer chips themselves.

Nova’s materials measurement solutions enable its customers to overcome the complex challenges posed by new materials currently used for the production of advanced logic and memory chips. Challenges such as ultra-thin film measurement, pressure, and the profile of materials inside the chip are now part of the measurement requirements at any advanced manufacturing site. The optical and X-ray solutions provided by the company address these challenges through a unique hardware and software portfolio. These unique methods are non-destructive and allow for particularly rapid measurements required in control processes today.

“Nova’s solutions enable the production of the next generation of computer chips,” said Eitan Oppenheim, President and CEO of Nova. “The accelerated pace of innovation in chip design has spawned a new set of requirements in the process control process. New generations of semiconductors, which combine both new architectures and new material applications, are creating increasing complexity in production processes. We believe that the future of metrology involves a close synergy between dimension measurement and material measurement, and Nova’s innovative portfolio enables this vision. We look forward to seeing the significant potential of our various materials solutions come to fruition in the coming years, as our customers increase their use in materials engineering as a key catalyst for better performance. ”

In the last trading days, the company has corrected most of the increases since the beginning of the year, after it jumped by about 88% during 2020.
