Aquarius reports progress in its strategic partnership with Nokia. According to the report, Aquarius was successful in testing the feasibility of software it developed for remote management of generators. Aquarius also announced that Nokia is interested in promoting more pilots as part of the collaboration in two more countries.
Following the success of the test, the second phase of cooperation between the parties will be advanced, as part of which Aquarius’ software will be integrated into Nokia’s systems. Aquarius is expected to submit to Nokia in the coming days a purchase order costing about 1.4 million euros, which will be paid over a period of about a year according to milestones.
Aquarius has developed and manufactures a small linear internal combustion engine for generating 10 kg of electricity, intended mainly for use in generators. In a single moving motor that converts fuel into electricity without the use of oil.
Aquarius estimates that the strategic agreement with the Finnish company will allow it to collect and analyze data in bulk, combined with high data transfer capabilities even given narrow bandwidth in remote area infrastructures. The pilots are currently being conducted by Nokia’s customers in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore, and now Nokia is expected to work to start more pilots in Germany and Poland.
“The move to the second phase of the agreement with Nokia is another step in advancing the fulfillment of the company’s strategic goals,” he said. Gal Friedman, Chairman of Aquarius Engines. “Emphasizing the company’s ability to present a complete and holistic solution for the purpose of assimilating its generators in the telecom market.”
