The 22nd round of the Euroleague continued tonight (Wednesday), when Oded Katash and Panathinaikos surrendered 76:66 to Real Madrid in Spain, while CSKA Moscow interrupted a streak of two paddles and defeated Alba Berlin 68:71 away. In addition, Wheelerban beat Basconia in France 77:83 and Zalgiris Kaunas beat Valencia 78:79.
Real Madrid – Panathinaikos 66:76
Oded Katash’s Greek side were halted after three consecutive victories in all competitions, including a 78:94 win over Russian Moscow Khimki in the previous round of the Euroleague. Now, the Greens hold a balance of 14 losses versus 7 wins in 15th place. The Russians had to sweat against the belligerent team from Germany, scoring only 14 points in the second quarter and 18 in the second quarter, but an excellent final quarter in which they left the host on just 12 points helped them win towards the end on the way to a 6:16 balance. Torinka Shangalya excelled with 20 points for the visitors.
Wheelerban – Basconia 77:83

On the other hand, the Spaniards failed to leverage the 61:83 over Basconia in the Spanish league 90:77 to the French Willerban in the previous round. Following the loss, Valencia went down to a 11:11 balance and are now out of the picture of promotion to the next stage. Augustine Robit stood out in Zalgiris with 17 points, while on the other hand, 18 points from Kalman Perplich were not enough.
