Dane DeHaan on rumors of a return as a Green Goblin
Credits: Dane DeHaan joins “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” by Sony / Columbia Pictures
Dane DeHaan had played Green Goblin in Sony’s 2014 film The Amazing Spider-Man 2 which Andrew Garfield saw wearing a Spider-Man suit. The film was directed by Marc Webb (500 summer days). According to Screen Rant, when it was announced that Jamie Foxx is repeating his role as Electro from the same film, fans began to speculate about the possible outcome of DeHaan on Green Goblin.
Green Goblin, one of Spider-Man’s most popular criminals, is popular with fans because of his engaging backend as a slow-moving Peter Parker friend Harry Osborn (following in his father’s footsteps, Norman Osborn) turns into a major archenemy. James Franco first played the character in Sam Raimi’s painting Spider-Man trilogy by Tobey Maguire.

Screen Rant said there could be room for DeHaan to return as Green Goblin, considering both Jamie Foxx and Alfred Molina repeating their roles as Electro and Doc Ock from Andrew Garfield and Toby Maguire Spider-Man movies, respectively. This has led fans to argue that Sony Pictures could be putting together a crossover multiplayer story. The Spider-Man 3 team will include Zendaya (Mary “MJ” Jane), Marisa Tomei (Aunt May Parker), Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange), Jamie Foxx (Electro), Alfred Molina (Doctor Octopus), Jacob Batalon (Ned) and Tony Revolori (Flash Thompson). The still untitled Spiderman sequel is expected to be released in theaters on December 17, 2021.
According to Movie Web, in addition to playing Harry Osborn / Green Goblin, DeHaan has kept himself busy in the last few years. Some Dane DeHaan movies include Remedy for well-being, Valerian and City of a Thousand Planets and The Kid, As well An Stranger, which started the now redundant Quibi streaming service. DeHaan is currently filming a version of Stephen King Lisey’s story.
