The struggle in Corona: The Ministry of Health published this morning (Wednesday) the picture of the morbidity of the corona virus in Israel, which indicates a slight slowdown in morbidity. The published data show that yesterday 7,737 patients were diagnosed in Corona out of 83,367 tests performed yesterday – the rate of positives remained high and stood at 9.6%. In the shadow of the gradual slowdown in the incidence of the virus in Israel, the debate within the government regarding the extension of the closure continues.

Health Minister Edelstein at a discussion in the Constitution Committee, today: “We will request an extension of one week to close”

According to the published disease data, there is a slowdown in the rate of spread of the virus, after 8,680 were diagnosed as positive on Tuesday in 91,606 tests to identify the virus and the verified rate was also higher and stood at 9.8%.

The Ministry of Health noted that the number of active corona patients in the country as of this morning stands at 76,708 people, of whom 1,787 are hospitalized. In the hospitals, 1,141 patients are hospitalized in a severely debilitated condition, of whom 393 are in critical condition and 311 are hospitalized in respirators. The number of people vaccinated in the first dose of the vaccine is 2,768,202 people, which is 30.04 percent of all Israelis. In the second dose, 1,377,803 Israelis have been vaccinated so far, constituting 14.95 percent of the total public in the country.

In the shadow of the stubborn struggle of the health care system and closures designed to slow the spread of the virus, the government continues to debate the extension of the closure. Netanyahu and Gantz’s original intention was to hold a cabinet meeting yesterday regarding the continuation of the closure or its cessation, but due to disagreements, for the time being, no date has been set for a discussion. The reason for this is an ultimatum issued by blue-and-white chairman Bnei Gantz, in which he demanded that the closure of the closure by the police in the ultra-Orthodox concentrations be increased.
