Sean Weissman Celebrates (La Liga)
Mixed feelings for Sean Weissman. The Israeli came off the bench tonight (Tuesday) in the 65th minute of Valladolid’s game in the King’s Cup, and in less than a minute managed to score a shrinking goal for his team, but in the end Levante recorded 2: 4 with the Purples in the quarterfinals and advanced to the next stage.
It actually started well for the Purples, when Kika cooked for Tony Villa the first goal in the 13th minute, but then the Frogs made a comeback in the first half from goals by Anis Bardi (23) and Michael Malsa (45). In the 59th minute, the guest already went up to 1: 3 when Coca scored the third, and then the Israeli arrived.
In the 65th minute Sean Weissman was called off the bench and immediately afterwards took advantage of a Fabian Oriana raise and slammed in his first and only season in the Copa del Rey. Unfortunately for the Israeli, the team from Valencia quickly regained the advantage, when in the 80th minute Jose Luis Morales scored with a penalty and closed the game with 2: 4. The Purples will now concentrate on the league, where they are two points away from the red line and three points from the rival in 16th place.
The one who also advanced to the next stage in the factory is Villarreal, who defeated Girona from the second division 0: 1. Although the yellow submarine did not lick honey in front of the opponent, it did its part thanks to an early goal by Yirmi Pino in the 19th minute. In addition, Real Betis also qualified for the next stage, when they defeated Real Sociedad 1: 3 in extra time over Real Sociedad, who will still meet Athletic Bilbao for the Basque Derby in the final of last season. Mikel Oyersbal still put Susiadad ahead in the 13th minute, but Asier Iramandi was sent off for a second yellow card in the 48th minute, Antonio Sanabria was sent off in the 75th minute and Sergio Canales made it 1-1 in the 78th minute and sent the game into extra time, in which substitute Iglesias ran away. A pair with goals in the 96th and 111th minutes and sent Manuel Pellegrini’s green Andalusian side to the next stage.
