After today’s loss to Fenerbahce, Maccabi Tel Aviv is completely with its back to the wall: it has 12 games left until the end of the regular season of the Euroleague, and it has to fight against quite a few teams for the last tickets to the “Top 8”. Towards the last line, and the strong struggle that awaits it, here is a snapshot:
As of the end of the game in Istanbul, Maccabi Tel Aviv is in 12th place in the table, with a balance of 12:10. This is what the table looks like, in the middle of the 22nd round, and the battle for eighth place that will lead to the quarterfinals series:

The next game, which was supposed to take place on Thursday against Anadolu, thus became a rather important game, which the Yellows had to win. Only four teams out of the eight Maccabi have not yet met twice – Bayern, Zalgiris, Anadolu and Valencia. She has already lost to Fenerbahce (which she lost twice) and Olympiacos (above), while she has won in Basconia twice. The meeting against Bayern away, where Maccabi lost at home, will also be a game from which Maccabi must win in order to maintain a chance.
