Corporal Harush calls her parents after the attempted attack
The terrorist who was shot dead while trying to stab the soldiers at the Giti Avishar junction near Ariel is Atallah Ryan (17), a resident of the village of Kravat Bnei Hassan near Salfit. Following the attempted attack, the IDF imposed checkpoints on the town of Salfit in an attempt to capture relatives of the terrorist who allegedly assisted him.

Ryan tried to attack a pair of fighters from the Home Front Command’s loud mixed battalion that would secure the junction. He focused on Corporal Harush and the two wrestled while trying to stab her. The force commander opened fire at him and killed him. The two fighters came out unscathed.
The commander of the Ephraim Regional Brigade, Col. Yiftach Nurkin, arrived at the scene and interrogated the force. Corporal Harush and her platoon commander were praised for their performance by senior officers in the Judea and Samaria Division.
Yinon Giat, who witnessed the stabbing attempt while standing at a traffic light, said he heard the shooting and noticed soldiers confronting the terrorist. “He fell after a few steps,” Giat said.
