The Ministry of Health published this morning (Monday) the morbidity data for the corona virus, which shows that 4,868 Israelis were diagnosed as positive for the virus in the last day, out of 54,109 tests performed yesterday. The rate of positive tests stands at 9.3%. It was also reported that 1,140 people were hospitalized in critical condition, including 358 respirators – a record number, and that the cumulative death toll stands at 4,419. Also, 68 people have died from the virus in the last day.
Meanwhile, Health Minister Yuli Edelstein announced that more than a million people received the second dose of the corona virus vaccine yesterday. Edelstein wrote on his Twitter account that “Israel continues to lead the world with 3.7 million vaccines (2.590 million received a first dose, of which more than a million also received a second dose), and we are starting the week with about 200,000 vaccinated a day. This is the way to beat the virus.”
