Rumors circulating today come out of a week-long press release revealing that Japanese entertainment conglomerate Konami has closed its video gaming division. Konami assures us that it did not.
In a press release dated 15 January the Japanese company announced the dissolution of its three production divisions, along with employee transfers for employees previously in charge of production divisions. What is happening in that publication, according to an official statement provided Kotaku by Konami, just confirmation of divisions.
The statement states “The news made refers to internal restructuring, with the confirmation of Production Departments. We have not closed our video games department. ”
So don’t worry, Konami will keep doing that PES a game of football and whatever it is these days. Yu-Gi-Oh and the like.
