Kyrie is back, the trio exploded – and Brooklyn still lost

After missing seven games due to personal reasons, Kyrie Irving returned tonight (Wednesday to Thursday) to play, but Brooklyn surprisingly lost after two overtimes to Cleveland despite a crazy display from the Trio Bents (Kevin Durant-James Harden-Irving). Philadelphia defeated Boston, Miami the disappointing Toronto and Dallas recorded a beautiful W out on Indiana. Golden State continues to improve, and the Clippers don’t stop winning. Two games have been postponed following Corona, that of Washington and Danny Abdia away against Charlotte, and Portland – Memphis.

Cleveland (7: 7) – Brooklyn (7: 9) 135: 147 (after two overtimes)

Philadelphia (5:10) – Boston (5: 8) 109: 117

Toronto (9: 5) – Miami (7: 6) 111: 102

Indiana (6: 8) – Dallas (7: 7) 124: 112

Houston (9: 4) – Phoenix (5: 8) 109: 103

LA Clippers (4:11) – Sacramento (10: 5) 96: 115

Golden State (6: 8) – San Antonio (7: 8) 99: 121

Atlanta (7: 7) – Detroit (11: 3) 115: 123

Minnesota (10: 3) – Orlando (8: 7) 97:96

The Brooklyn superstar trio scored 96 points, and that still wasn’t enough for the Nets to win one of the season’s surprises so far. Promising Colin Sexton, who has missed the previous five games following an ankle injury, swept the Cubs to a huge win with 42 points, 15 of which came in overtime, most on Irving’s head.

Durant led the losing scores with 38, Irving added 37 and Harden was “modest” with 21 alongside 12 assists (and 10 rebounds). On the winning side, Chady Osman assisted Sexton with 25, and Taurine Prince in his first game against the Exiles, after going through the trade in question for Harden, added 17 in the debut.

The Nets came back from a 13-yard deficit in the fourth quarter to a 113-113 tie, and they still had a chance to win after losing a Sexton ball, but to no avail. In the first overtime Brooklyn led 124: 127, but a huge Sexton three-pointer 1.2 seconds over Irving sent the tackle to a second overtime. Durant still got a good chance to win in the first overtime, but he also missed outside the arc. In the second overtime the host managed to take control of the game, opened a gap and won.

Joel Ambide has been playing just great since the start of the season. Tonight is fiery with 42 points and 10 rebounds – and led the Sixers to a prestigious victory, in what could easily be an Eastern Conference playoff final. Tobias Harris assisted him with 22 points.

This is without a doubt the start of the best season in the career of the chin, who scores 40 points for the second time already in 2020/21. Ambide’s percentages from the field were excellent (12 of 19) and he reached the line no less than 21 times (17 points). He did all this in just 34 minutes. Jaylen Brown led the loser with 26, Marcus Smart added 25 and Kamba Walker 19.

Without Jimmy Butler, Tyler Hiro, Avery Bradley and Myers Leonard, the Heat still beat Toronto away, failing to rise from its terrible season opener. Kendrick Nan was fantastic in the visiting ranks with 28 points, in which Adbaio presented a versatile game that included 14 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists, and Kelly Olinik came off the bench and finished with 15, 8 and 8.

Fred and Anvit scored 24 and gave up 9 assists to the locals, who were stopped after three straight wins, and when it already looked like they were going through the tough time. Kyle Laurie started with his team’s first seven points, but by the end only added one more point. Miami managed to bring Toronto down to 30 percent from the field in the second half thanks to excellent regional defense.

After three consecutive losses the Mavericks are back to winning, and there is a clear reason for that – Kristaps Forzingis. The forward missed the first nine games of the season following ankle surgery, and since returning he has not really been in matters. Until tonight. The Latvian finished with a season high of 27 points and 12 rebounds, and received great help from his good friend, Luka Doncic, who added another triple-double (13 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists) while overcoming pain (injured knee) Three times during the game, and still kept playing).

The Pacers allowed several hundred spectators into their home hall, with the approval of the authorities, but they were unable to see their team win. Malcolm Brogdon led with 26 points, and Domantas Savonis added 25 alongside 9 rebounds (his streak with a double-double stopped at 13). Dallas ran away from the host between the third and fourth quarters with two runs (2: 9 and 3:11), which were enough for her.

The Suns continue to be the league’s official refresher, while the Rockets continue to record losses in the post-Harden era. Diandra Eyton finished with a season record of 26 points and 17 rebounds for the winner. The visitors were already leading by 20 points in the third quarter, but Victor Oladipo led an impressive run by the host, and the gap shrank to 103: 101 with a minute and a half left to play. Eventually Devin Booker (24 points) and Eyton closed out an interest.

Eric Gordon and Oladipo have scored 22 points each for the Rockets, who have lost three of their last four games since the man and old man left for Brooklyn. John Wall missed a fourth straight game due to knee pain. Chris Paul scored 13 for Phoenix, reaching 19,004 career points and becoming 60 in NBA history reaching that number.

Tyrone Lou’s team recorded its fifth consecutive victory and equaled its city rival, LA Lakers, with the best balance in the league (4:11). For the Kings, who were defeated last week by 38 points by the Clippers, it was their fourth straight loss and sixth in seven games.

Kwai Leonard (32 points) and Paul George (19) led the winning scorers as usual. George even equaled the record of his career with no less than 12 assists. Ivica Zubak added 11 points and a season-high of 12 rebounds. Diaron Fox scored 17 of his 25 points in the first half, and then disappeared, just like Buddy the Boy, who scored 11 of 13 in the first two quarters. The Clippers closed out interest in the third quarter thanks to two runs (0: 9 and 0:13) and led after 36 minutes by 20 points (75:95).

If anyone thought after Clay Thompson’s injury at the break that the Warriors are going for a terrible season again, then Steph Kerry (26 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists) proves otherwise. James Weissman added 20 and Golden State played just great basketball with 31 assists.

The turning point in the game came during the second quarter when the Spurs led 36:43, Steve Kerr technically absorbed, put Drymond Green and Kerry back on the floor, and his team went out for a 4:18 run. From there Golden State held the lead and as the tackle progressed even widened the gap. The Warriors also had time to pay tribute to the new Vice President of the United States, Camela Harris, who was born in Auckland, and sent her a team jersey signed by Kerry, who also congratulated her.
