Danielle Kang fired an unopened 64 bogey to open a one-shot lead following the opening round of the Diamond Resorts Tournament in Florida.

Kang sent birdies after the second and conceded from just off the green ninth to reach the turn in 31, with the Americans taking advantage of the 10th and 13th par-fives to get to five. fo.

The 14th’s long-range birdie was followed by a tap-in at the 16th to move Kang into the solo lead, before closing the 28-year-old’s startless lead until 2021 with a back pars.

Jessica Korda threatened an unrecorded low level after she opened with three consecutive birdies and an eagle on the 13th par-three on her way to reaching the leg in 30, just to lose ground with bogeys at the second and eighth.

A final-hole birdie took her to six under alongside her younger sister Nelly, who made an eagle and three birdies over her last seven holes, while Lopez began her title defense with a 65-goal unbeaten streak.

Georgia Hall and Mel Reid are six away from distance and in 16th tied after the 70s opening round, while English team-mate Bronte Law tied-23rd of the 25 professionals in action after two more 73.
