WWE NXT: Tommaso Ciampa, Timothy Thatcher hits the Fight Pit

January 21 (UPI) – Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher went to war inside the Fight Pit in the main WWE NXT event.

Thatcher ‘s highlight is the Fight Pit and it is a modified steel cage with a small walkway located at the top. The game can only be won by hitting or entering.

Ciampa and Thatcher started the brutal game on the runway on Wednesday before taking the battle down to the ring.

Ciampa delivered a low beat that was used to escape a sleep apnea. Ciampa was able to do Willow’s Bell and complete Fairytale Ending, but it was still not enough.

Ciampa found himself inside the cage, which Thatcher took advantage of by placing his rival in a modified Stretch Muffler. Ciampa was forced to step out due to the surgery-repaired knee injury, giving Thatcher a huge advantage.

Also on WWE NXT, the first Dusty Rhodes Classic Tag Team competition was kicked off by Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix who introduced the participants.

Phoenix spoke about how NXT has been at the forefront of women ‘s evolution in professional combat and noted how stars like Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks, Charlotte Flair, Bayley and more got started on the brand. yellow and gold.

Phoenix thanked fans for supporting the women’s wrestling and introduced the first match of the tournament between Kacey Catanzaro and Kayden Carter against Toni Storm and Mercedes Martinez.

NXT Contest Finn Balor met with general manager NXT Regal and said he finally wants to go against Pete Dunne only after he caught the attention of Dunne’s friends, NXT Tag Tournaments Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch.

Regal said Balor can face Lorcan and Burch next week if he finds himself a tag teammate.

Balor, who said he has no friends, told his rival Kyle O’Reilly of The Undisputed Era with the offer. Balor recently defended his title for the second time against O’Reilly in a winning effort.

O’Reilly accepted the offer, making the game official.
