David and Victoria Beckham have reportedly been given the green light to build a state-of-the-art cellar containing 7,000 bottles of wine under their £ 6million Cotswolds home.
The couple are said to have received approval from West Oxfordshire District Council for lighter plans submitted to upgrade their basement floor under the garage to a wine treasure chest.
David, 45, and Victoria, 46, applied to expand the space from the 81 square meters originally proposed to 117.5 square meters last month.
Cheers! David and Victoria Beckham have reportedly taken the green light to build a state-of-the-art cellar containing 7,000 bottles of wine at their £ 6million Cotswolds home
Figures, according to the 2011 Royal Institute of British Architects, Case for Space Report, show that the extension will be significantly larger than the average size of 88 square meters of a three-bedroom house in the UK.
The Sun reports that the Beckhams have been given three years to begin the development, where the garage will be expanded to accommodate an additional four vehicles from their luxury fleet of motors.
MailOnline has contacted David and Victoria’s representatives for comment.

The first plan, agreed in June, was for the cellar to be connected to the main house by an underground walkway.
But David and Victoria changed their design application last month because they wanted more ground floor space.
Explaining how the changes would have little effect on the original plans, the Planning and Accessibility Statement reads: ‘The proposed changes include some of the alterations to the arrangement of doors, windows, rooflights and liquids of permitted garage buildings.

‘The proposed alterations are minor in nature and do not affect nearby buildings or affect the setting of the nearby listed building. ‘
The cellar’s plans are some of the changes the Beckham clan has planned for their Phase II listed cap, and they spent most of them last year there.
The former England captain and his wife won a license in August for a 2,976-square-meter kidney-shaped water feature in the garden, despite complaints from furious residents.

Big designs: The cellar plans are just some of the changes the Beckham clan is planning for their Phase II listed cap, most of which they spent last year.
They have also installed a sauna, which did not require council approval.
But the pair have now provoked more anger from neighbors after they submitted plans to make the lake even bigger just months later.
The Beckhams have asked West Oxfordshire District Council if they can increase the size of the lake to 4,170 square meters and add an island, measured at 122 square meters.
The couple seem likely to get the green light, with scientists saying the lake should not disturb wildlife in the countryside.
But deputy biodiversity officer Esther Frizell-Armitage has called for motorboats to be banned on the water so as not to disturb the animals.
That means if the Beckhams want to make it to the island they have to mention.

She said: ‘It is important to ensure that there are restrictions on the use of the lunch boat.
I therefore propose to impose a specific position which refers to the type of boats to be used on the water, such as restricting the use of speedboats.
I think it would be appropriate to accept non-motorized boats, such as rowing boats.
This is to reduce disturbance to wildlife, such as pond related birds, particularly as the main purpose of the pond is to enhance biodiversity. ‘
West Oxfordshire District Council should make its decision early this year.
The top couple are in a race against time to build the water feature before February.
Planning rules for the original workers on the lake may only be on site between August and February to protect nesting birds.
Excavators seem to have been brought in to get to work with the original measurements.
The council said the couple needed to plant hedges and trees to protect native birds, and also use special lighting to help bats.
It needs an underground chamber – called a hibernacula – to support reptiles, amphibians and hedgehogs.
The Beckhams have also been asked to submit a five-year maintenance plan to show how they will support the area’s biodiversity.
