Jurgen Klopp has said Joel Matip will train ‘normally’ on Monday after missing his last three league games with a groin injury.
Matip has been absent for Liverpool ever since appearing in their draw against West Brom on December 27 but returned to training on Friday to take part in various drills.
Klopp is confident the 29-year-old will be fined by Monday but says a return to action against Manchester United would have been premature.

As a result, Klopp said he would play Jordan Henderson as a top-back in their class at the top of the table with Manchester United on Sunday.
Henderson joined midfielder Fabinho in a defensive midfield as Liverpool continue to struggle with a back injury crisis. Top picks Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez are both still getting the better of them.
Klopp said: ‘Joel could only do part of the sessions from Friday. Now it’s Sunday and that’s not enough.
