However, there is nothing binding about the intention. Mr. Pence and a majority of Mr. Trump’s cabinet are the ones who needed to take that step, not Congress. There is no evidence that Mr Pence will do so.
On the same day, Mr. Trump visited the U.S.-Mexico border in Alamo, Texas, to press for the push during his presidency to build a new border fence.

After Democrats failed to run for Mr. Pence, they moved on to a vote on a high-stakes vote, the way Congress can run for president. .

Ten Republicans joined them and voted to impeach Mr. Trump. A Republican convener did not vote for Mr Trump’s first impeachment in December 2019.
