Corona vaccination: The campaign is expanding – starting next week, those aged 45 and over will be vaccinated

The Ministry of Health announced today (Friday) that the vaccine campaign for Corona “Returns to Life” continues to expand to additional populations in the public: starting next week, HMO insured persons aged 45 and over will be vaccinated. The HMOs should be contacted to schedule an appointment for the vaccine.

In Israel, about 2.17 million people have been vaccinated so far, with 1,992,720 people receiving the first dose, of which 169,171 Israelis have already received the second dose. Yesterday, about 130,000 people were vaccinated.

Earlier today, the Ministry of Health published the latest corona data, according to which 9,172 new corona patients were diagnosed in Israel in the last day. This is the fourth day in a row that the number of diagnoses exceeds the 9,000 mark. The percentage of positive tests from the 123,081 tests performed throughout the country stands at 7.6%, down from 7.9% recorded in the previous 24 hours.

The data show that the number of active patients in the country stands at 78,430, of whom 1,097 and 263 are respirators. In addition, 3,869 people have died in Israel since the outbreak.

Bnei Gantz on Corona Vaccine Operation

As you may recall, yesterday an unusual incident was reported in which a 67-year-old woman received five doses of vaccine against the corona at once in the “Maccabi” complex in the arena in Jerusalem. She was taken to Shaare Zedek Hospital in the city, but is in good condition.

Maccabi responded: “In the morning, a nurse reported that due to a mistake, she vaccinated a patient with a larger dose than required. In accordance with the procedure, the patient was referred for further supervision in a hospital. The patient is feeling well.” They added that “the incident was reported to the Ministry of Health as required and lessons learned and learned. It will be emphasized that in the experiments that Pfizer conducted during the development of the vaccine, higher doses were given than the dose currently injected.”
