The winter system that began last night intensified today (Thursday), and beautiful amounts of precipitation fell mainly in the north of the country. At around two o’clock in the afternoon, the rains also spread to the center of the country, accompanied by thunderstorms.
Temperatures all over the country have dropped considerably, by 8-10 degrees. It snows on Mount Hermon mainly at the top of the site. In the evening, the rain will spread to the Jerusalem area and the outskirts of the northern Negev. During the night, the rains will decrease and weaken.

These are the amounts of precipitation that fell from last night until these hours: Zichron Yaacov 29 with mm, Ortal North Golan – 27 mm, Geshur south of the Golan Heights – 23 mm, Netanya – 21 mm, Bnei Brak and Katzrin with 14 mm M, Nahalal with 13 mm, Kibbutz Ginosar with 12 mm and Safed with 11 mm.
During the evening and night, the rains will continue to fall from the north of the country to the northern Negev, accompanied by isolated thunderstorms. There are fears of floods in eastern streams and snow has fallen on Mount Hermon. Tomorrow will be partly cloudy to cloudy and cool. The winds will weaken and there may be light local rain, especially in the north and center of the country.
On Saturday it will be partly cloudy with a slight rise in temperatures, along the coast strong winds will blow. In the north of the country there may be local rain and in the south it will be clear. From the afternoon and evening, intermittent rain is expected in the north of the country. The rain is expected to spread to the coastal plain at night as well.
On Monday, it rained in the north and center of the country, with occasional thunderstorms. There are fears of floods in eastern streams. It will be colder than usual and it will snow on Mount Hermon. On Tuesday, rains will decrease and weaken, but fall intermittently in the north and center of the country.
