A look at: European coronavirus cuirfews and locks

Across Europe and beyond, different countries have a mosaic of invitations and locks to fight the spread of the crown virus.

Austria: In third lockout. Leaving home only allowed for work, medical visits, exercise, groceries. Or cuirfew overnight.

Belgium: 10pm to 6am curfew in French regions; midnight to 5 a.m. in the Dutch Flanders region.

Bulgaria: No lock or curfew.

Croatia: Boundaries of collections; cafes and restaurants closed, but no curfew.

Cyprus: In locking down, as well as curfew 9pm to 5am.

Czech Republic: 9pm to 5am curfew.

Denmark: No lock or curfew.

Estonia: No lock or curfew.

Finland: No lock or cuirfew.

France: the longest curfew in the EU, from 6pm to 6am, in 25 regions of eastern France; from 8pm to 6am in the rest of the country. Shopping and all outdoor activities stop at curfew, only short pet walks are allowed. Work and travel are permitted with a note from the employer. Delivery of food but not permitted. Fine for breakers.

Germany: Pattern of restrictions in the 16 states; some have night invitations; or cuirfew in the capital, Berlin.

Greece: In lockdown; limited movements allowed during the day, plus 9pm to 5am curfew.

Hungary: 8pm to 5am cuirfew.

Ireland: In lockdown; permitted travel for work, education, other essential activities and for exercise within 5 kilometers (3 miles) of the home. Gun cuirfew.

Italy: 10pm to 5am cuirfew.

Latvia: 10pm to 5am curfew from Friday night to Sunday morning.

Lithuania: Gun cuirfew.

Luxembourg: 11pm to 6am curfew.

Malta: Gun cuirfew.

Netherlands: Tight lock until at least Feb. 9. No curfew, but consider one.

Norway: No lock or cuirfew.

Poland: Closed shopping centers, except pharmacies, cleaners, barber and grocery stores. Restaurants can only make takeaway food. Hotels, sports facilities closed. Gun cuirfew.

Portugal: Tight locking begins Friday. It is essential to stay at home, including for work. Schools to stay open, along with companies that provide essential services.

Romania: 11pm to 6pm. Locks localized, but not strictly enforced.

Russia and other former Soviet countries: No locks or invitations.

Slovakia: In lockout. Leaving home allowed for work and essentials.

Slovenia: 9pm to 6am curfew.

Spain: Invitations start between 10:00 pm and 12:00 am and finish between 5:00 am and 7:00 am, depending on the region.

Sweden: No lock or cuirfew.

Turkey: 9pm to 5am curfew weekdays; locking all day on weekends.

UK: All four countries (England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales) are locked in, people must stay at home except for essential walks and exercise. Schools with the exception of key staff and vulnerable children closed. Gun cuirfew.
