The Philadelphia 76ers were involved in a lot of trade rumors for Houston Rockets star James Harden Wednesday in which star Ben Simmons was at the heart of the matter. To get a superstar as a Harden, one must unleash great talent like Simmons.
However, trade never came. Harden finished with the Brooklyn Nets because the asking price from Houston was just a little too steep. At the end of the day, the Sixers still have a roster that can compete for a tournament led by Simmons and Joel Embiid and a strong support team of players who play their roles.
For that reason, Simmons is happier to remain a member of the Sixers as they move forward.
The Sixers sit at 8-4 despite relying more on undeclared players such as Isaiah Joe and Dakota Mathias because of the league’s health and safety protocols keeping their key pieces on the sidelines. Philadelphia will take on the Miami Heat Thursday at home looking to move forward as a team.
