Rupert Grint: Coming back to a servant after becoming a father was very different

The second season of the Shyamalan Servant M Night series is all set for the first time on Apple TV Plus, and if the first season is anything to go by, the Turner family is in for a much more spooky tour seo. The Turners struggled to make up for the loss of their child in the first season, and in the second set, the loss feels even greater.

“It’s about those characters not lamenting when they should be, but they all avoid it and hide it. It affects their minds in different ways, ”said Rupert Grint, who plays Julian Pearce, in a roundtable conversation.

Lauren Ambrose, who plays the brutal mother Dorothy Turner, said she tried “not to judge the character” and “eventually found some sympathy for her,” although he Dorothy is obviously “definitely lying”. Dorothy lost her newborn baby but was dealing with a reborn doll named Jericho, believing the doll was real. Things turn around when a real child replaces the doll and then captures it, perhaps, with a cult.

“I mean everything horrible you think happens to a mother happens to this person. The doll is her approach to dealing with this trauma that is too hard to even watch. This season turns a darker corner, and the character is asked to go to some dark places. And as a mother, she won’t stop at nothing to have this baby, ”Lauren told indianexpress.com.

Meanwhile, Dorothy ‘s husband, Sean (Toby Kebbell), who tried to reason everything out in the first season, has also jumped on the bandwagon to find Jericho. Sean was the supportive man for Dorothy as she dealt with her grief, but after the doll was replaced by a real baby, Sean’s father’s instinct kicked in. Toby said, “For me, in season 2, I have to play the flip side. The child is gone, and this time, not through death, but by eviction. ”

Famous Harry Potter actor Rupert Grint plays Julian’s brother Dorothy. While Dorothy and her husband Sean live in a spooky house in Philadelphia, Julian is the only one from the family who has life outside of this house. He is the rational thinker in this situation. Servant is largely a dark series who gets only flashes of light humor with the presence of Julian.

In the roundtable discussion, Rupert told indianexpress.com, “He is the voice of the audience because he is a rational thinker. Although he makes cunning decisions that I would not recommend, he is very much a black and white boy. He always thinks it’s one step ahead, and he knows what to do. ”

Rupert also talked about his experience with his father while shooting the series. He said, “Coming back to the show after he became a father made the show very different. It was a completely new look so that was definitely something new for me. ”

Servant returns with his second season on Apple TV Plus on January 15th.
