We’ve compared the AirPods Max with several other sets of headphones from companies like Bose, Sennheiser, and Sony, but lately, the Drop + THX Wireless Headphones have been getting a few attention, so we thought we’d see how they measure up to Apple headphones.
Priced at $ 400, the Panda Wireless Drop + THX headphones are the first headphones to offer AAA THX Enhancement, for what Drop says are “the lowest distortion rates in the world. world. ” They are also equipped with “planer-ribbon drivers” for extra distortion and more reasonable soundproofing, and appear to be extremely comfortable with plush foam earbuds in leather.
These weren’t on our radar until we started hearing from the YouTube community, so they aren’t as familiar with other brands, but they do have certain features. That said, these are no better than the AirPods Max, which was unexpected given the difference in price points.
When it comes to sound, MacRumors Physiologist Dan, who tested the headphones, said the Pandas Drop + THX is “even dead” with the AirPods Max in terms of sound quality, and maybe even slightly better.
The AirPods Max are more comfortable than Panda Drop + THX headphones, with the latter placing more emphasis on the temples and cheeks while the AirPods Max are able to distribute weight better. The AirPods Max mesh ear cups are also more comfortable than leather ear cups, as leather can accompany the hot tight seal.
Compared to the AirPods Max, the Drop + THX Panda headphones lack Active Stop sound, but there is enough seal around the head that it drowns out most side sounds outside.
The Drop + THX Panda headphones come with a hard case that fits on the headphones as well as extra cables, and come with a USB-C cable for a charge and a 3.5mm audio cable if you have for use in wireless capability. In contrast, the AirPods Max have the Smart Case, which is not particularly waterproof.
When it comes to battery life, the Panda Drop + THX headphones can last up to 30 hours, which is 10 hours more than the AirPods Max. As for controls, the Drop x THX Pandas have a small dashboard that can be used to skim shots and control replay.
Overall, the Panda Drop + THX headphones may be a great fit for those who want good sound quality and don’t care about the lack of Active Stop, but the AirPods Max wins out there the comfort, ANC capabilities, Spatial Sound, head detection, and ease of use with Apple devices thanks to the H1 chip that allows for a quick pairing and quick device change.
