One fan said that Debra told Variety last year that she had not previously been willing to play Lucille Ball for a TV project.
‘Like 15 years ago people would say: “Hey, do you want to make it like a movie made for TV or something?” And I always felt like: “Oh, I wouldn’t even touch that. As invisible,” Debra shared with Variety at the time.
But before this Monday when a Twitter user gave up the quota Debra said: ‘Ummmmmm, I changed my mind,’ with a winking emoji.

She went on to rewrite messages such as: ‘No way !!! Debra Messing would be perfect !! I always said it was the closest thing to Lucy coming around any time soon. I love Nicole Kidman but I can’t see her as Lucy. ‘
Another Twitter user wrote: ‘Nicole Kidman ??? Debra Messing is the right choice for this role. Love you, don’t always agree with you, but you hit the mark on this completely, ‘and you got a reward from Debra.

She filed for divorce for the first time in 1944, reportedly over working on philanthropy and drinking, but they got back together before they separated permanently in 1960.
In the meantime they produced two children and the sitcom that introduced TV myth, running from 1951 to 1957.
They also appeared in films together during their marriage, including Forever, Darling and the Vincente Minnelli comedy The Long, Long Trailer.
Despite their divorce, in which she announced their marriage as a nightmare, Lucy and Desi remained publicly friendly for the rest of her life.

Lucy married Gary Morton ‘s Borscht Belt comic in 1961 and remained with him until her death in 1989, and Desi married one Edith Hirsch in 1963.
Edith and Desi died of cancer one year apart – she passed away in 1985 and her husband, who loved cigarettes from his native Cuba, contracted lung cancer in 1986.
Aaron Sorkin ‘s new biopic is about one week spent doing a program of I Love Lucy in which Lucy and Desi’ s marriage was shaken.
The turbulent week, reportedly running from the board to tapping in front of a studio audience, is said to include a professional minion for the couple as well.
