The leader of the sexual cult in Istanbul, Turkey, who preached the belief in Islam and was married to a large number of women who were known as the “cats”, was found guilty of ten different counts including child sexual abuse, rape, extortion, fraud, political and military espionage and causing torment. The court ruled yesterday (Monday) that 64-year-old Adnan Okter, who has denied all charges against him, will be jailed for about 1,075 years. Watch a short film made about Adnan Okter’s “The Feminist Sect”:
The head of the conservative sect was known to be one who was surrounded by women, who were always many years younger than him, and dressed in revealing clothes, at his request. At a court hearing last month, Okter claimed he had nearly 1,000 women, but denied the sex crimes he committed against them. “I have a heart full of love for women, love is a human trait. That is the quality of a believing Muslim,” Okter said at one of the hearings in October.
Okter was first exposed to public attention as early as the 1990s, when he was a cult leader who was responsible for many scandals. Okter has his own online TV channel, A9, which aired in 2011, causing harsh reactions from Turkish clerics. One of the women in his trial, identified by the acronym CC, told the court that Okter abused her and many other women, with some of the women who suffered the abuse having to secretly take birth control pills in order to never give birth to his offspring.
In addition to all this, Okter was also accused in Turkey of aiding the American Muslim cleric, Patula Golan, who was responsible for an attempt to overthrow a failed regime in 2016. Also, the cult leader’s communication channel was suspended for broadcast and his books were outlawed.
