You received an extension: The Israeli driver’s license, from the moment it was issued at the age of 16 and nine months at the earliest, is valid only for ten years from the moment of receipt (excluding the year of the new driver). But this is not the case in the rest of the world, and especially in Europe, where it is customary to give validity to a driver’s license until a later age, which requires a more rigorous examination of the driver’s physical abilities.
Starting this October, the driver’s license in Israel will also have a particularly long validity, and new and young drivers will enjoy that their license will be available to them until the age of 70, if they do not violate traffic rules and have to give it up for one legal reason or another.
Minister of Transport, Miri Regev (Likud) boasted of the achievement in a post published today (Monday) on Facebook: “Another revolution has been completed – a driver’s license valid continuously until the age of 70, to save you both time and money. Starting this October, we will issue the new driver’s licenses “I entered a delayed position for years and managed to remove barriers and bring it to fruition. Dear citizens of Israel – drive in peace and return in peace.”
