A 23-year-old man who was vaccinated against coronavirus has been admitted to hospital on Sunday after suffering heart failure according to initial assessment doctors say it is “frightening”.
The man suffered nausea and a sore throat all day after receiving the vaccine and after that he became very weak. Tests showed the man had previously contracted coronavirus and did not develop symptoms.
Prof. Dror Mevorach, director of the internal medicine department at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem, where the young man is in hospital, said it was not yet possible to confirm with absolute certainty that the vaccine was linked to the symptoms, but “the time is suspicious.”
“It is possible that such a response could arise in infected people [with coronavirus] in the past and have developed antibodies. ”
The man’s case has been referred to the World Health Organization and the Ministry of Health.
