Pokemon GO is currently running the Unova Gathering Challenge, and Herdier is one of nine Pokemon on that challenge roster.
There is only a short amount of time to complete the challenge, so players need to be quick if Herdier continues to eliminate them.
Herdier seems to be the hardest Pokemon to capture in the Unova Gathering challenge as he is the only one in the form of evolution. The other eight Pokemon in the challenge are all first forms, but Herdier stands out. Lilipup, Herdier’s first form, is also part of the Unova Collection challenge.
What makes Herdier more challenging is the fact that the nine Pokemon in the Pokemon Go Unova Gathering challenge must be captured in the country. That means Lilipup players can’t develop to get the Herdier. The good news is that there are a few suggestions for capturing Herdier before the Unova Gathering challenge ends in Pokemon Go on January 10, 2021.
Suggestions for catching a herd for the Pokemon GO Unova Collection challenge
The most obvious way to catch a herd is to find it in the open air. However, that is a good opportunity for most. Some players may just be lucky enough to open Pokemon GO and see Herdier, and these opportunities increase as more players just walk around with the app open. But that can take a while, if it happens at all.
Using incense in Pokemon GO can be another way to increase chances of finding a herdsman. It causes all the usual Pokémon events to appear around the player’s origins, which may include Herdier. The incense also requires minimal effort, as players can just sit and look at their phone with the active incense. But they only last for an hour in Pokemon GO for now.
A much surer way to get a herdsman is to end an attack against Herdier. While the Unova Gathering challenge is active, Herdier appears in a three-star raid. With one or two other players at hand, defeating the Herdier and capturing him for the challenge is a far more certain approach. Herdier is a Pokemon of the conventional type, so players who want to defeat him in attack may want to introduce some form of Pokemon combat or moves.
Once Herdier is captured, completing the rest of the challenge shouldn’t take too long for most players in Pokemon GO.
