Apple today shared the trailer for the upcoming Apple TV + show “Losing Alice,” which is set to launch on Friday, January 22nd.
“Losing Alice” is a non-noir psychological thriller written and directed by Sigal Avin and starring Israeli actress Ayelet Zurer. The series follows aging director Alice and her growing obsession with a young screenwriter named Sophie.
“Losing Alice” is an immersive cinematic journey that uses flashbacks and flash-forwards in a satisfyingly complex narrative that takes the viewer through the consciousness and subconsciousness of the mind of its main speaker. The series follows Alice (played by Ayelet Zurer), a 48-year-old female film director, who feels helpless since raising her family. After a brief encounter on the train, she becomes pregnant with 24-year-old femme fatale screenwriter Sophie (played by Lihi Kornowski), and finally surrenders her moral integrity to achieve power, relevance and success. . Through the prism of this female Faust, the series explores issues such as jealousy, guilt, fears of aging, and the complex relationships women have among themselves and each other. But above all, “Losing Alice” is a love letter for the female director that is still too rare.
The first three programs of the series will be available on January 22, with new programs following each week. It will be available for streaming worldwide on Apple TV + through a co-production contract with Israeli Dori Media productions.
