Dom Bess is expected to add to his 10 test caps when England face Sri Lanka in Galle next week
Former England superstar Dom Bess looks like wickets that will play to his strengths in Sri Lanka and India – although Friday’s practice range at Hambantota surprised us.
Bess is expected to add to his 10 test caps when the series starts two games against Sri Lanka in Galle next Thursday, live on Sky Sports Cricket.
England are likely to play two spinners on a traditionally turning wicket – something Bess is thankful for, with all his previous appearances coming at home and in South Africa. which is friendly to sailors.
“I haven’t played many wickets that have suited me and while I really enjoyed that challenge, it’s great to have all eyes on the spinners now,” said Bess.

“My favorite ball is good enough and will challenge fighters, then it’s about finding out to position the fields so they can put pressure.
“These guys (Sri Lanka) have grown up playing spin and that’s why I think it’s a big challenge.”
Bess was previously part of a spinning camp led by former Sri Lankan vice president Rangana Herath, who placed 433 test wikis in 93 matches, and has been revising her notes in the period before the series.
“We talked a lot about bowling on the subcontinent and I still have the voice notes on my phone,” the 23-year-old said.
“It was about being as consistent as you can be in one area. It has definitely helped me prepare mentally.”

The England team started a two-day game inside the squad on Friday, where the sailors were shining on a wicket that looked more English than something from the subcontinent.
“I would be very surprised if we got that kind of pitch (at Galle),” said Bess.
“He was very clever from the Sri Lankans, no matter what they do with this park.
“But it’s also about switching to a Kookaburra ball and the heat, so it was a really good job.”
