The man known as the next ‘Kaka’ is expected to end his stint at Stamford Bridge after being recalled early from his time in Portugal
Lucas Piazon has spellbound his loan with Rio Ave which ended early on a permanent move away from Chelsea after nine years at the club.
It is understood that three unnamed clubs are in talks with Chelsea, who have offered Piazon for a permanent move with his contract coming to an end soon.
The 26-year-old has just six months left on his current contract, but an option for an extra year ensures the Blues can cash in on Brazil.
The deal is a blow to the Primeira Liga club after being consistent through his 18-month loan at the Estadio dos Arcos.
However, Piazon has been looking to move away from the loan system after making seven temporary moves in his nine years at Chelsea.
It had become increasingly clear he would not build on his three appearances in Chelsea’s first team after arriving as one of Brazil’s most exciting talents in a £ 5m ($ 7m) move from Sao Paulo in 2012.
Chelsea also want to reduce their loan squad ahead of next season with new FIFA rules coming in to limit clubs to just eight such contracts for players over the age of 22.
Meanwhile, Baba Rahman and Danny Drinkwater are currently playing and training with under-23s at Chelsea ahead of loan deals in January.
