Jon Rahm jumps to Callaway equipment after years with TaylorMade

Jon Rahm has a new equipment contract to start the New Year. The No. 2 registered golfer in the world, Rahm has entered Callaway tour staff with a multi-view agreement.

After years with rival TaylorMade, Callaway woods and magazines will be in his bag this week as he makes his 2021 PGA TOUR debut at the Sentry Champion Tournament in Maui. He will also use Callaway’s Chrome Soft X golf ball and eventually move to the Callaway and Odyssey putter sections.

Rahm, 26, worked extensively with the Callaway Tour Division to bid for specs for each of his new prototype clubs and said he burned a 59-course record at the Silverleaf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona, in its first round with its new position.

Rahm, a five-time PGA TOUR winner and 2019 European Tour Player of the Year, wears a dress from TravisMathew, which acquired Callaway in 2017, and sports the Topgolf logo on the top of his shirt. Callaway joined Topgolf in October.

Rahm knows Callaway, as he used Callaway and putter Odyssey clubs while at Arizona State, where his 11 contests are second in school history behind Callaway teammate Phil Mickelson.

“He’s one of the best players in the world, and he’s a winner on the most global levels of golf,” President Callaway and CEO Chip Brewer said of Rahm. “We have loved Jon for many years, going back to his college days when he first used our equipment. We’ve seen him play Callaway and Odyssey again, looking to take his game to the next level. ”
