Heavy fog reported in parts of Israel on Monday morning on all planes at Ben Gurion Airport for nearly an hour and a half, causing delays.
Flights delayed by the fog included Arkia’s flight to Eilat and El Al’s flight to Dubai, while an Ethiopian flight landed at the port to the city of Larnaca in Cyprus.

“Due to the current weather conditions in the Ben Gurion Airport area, which include heavy fog and low visibility, the airport is closed for take-off and landing. , “the Airports Authority said in a statement.
The fog was widespread across the country in the early hours of the morning gradually spreading around 10:30 am.

Planes are barely visible at Ben Gurion Airport amidst the fog
The surprise was due to moisture in the lower layers of the atmosphere entering the air along the Israeli coast and northwestern Negev.
Such a phenomenon usually occurs in summer and spring. And although it happens in the winter, it is much more difficult for meteorologists to predict reliably.

Poor visibility due to fog
As soon as the fog dissipates, the weather is ready to warm seasonally, with temperatures up to 25 degrees Celsius in some areas.
Although temperatures are expected to drop sharply at night, rain is not expected this week.
Temperatures are expected to be as follows: Jerusalem 11-18, Tel Aviv 12-22, Haifa 15-21, Tiberias 14-24, Beer Sheva 10-25 and Eilat 14-27.
