While Maccabi Tel Aviv defeated Hapoel Tel Aviv and advanced tonight (Sunday) to the semi-finals of the State Cup, Alba Berlin, its rival in the Euroleague on Thursday, defeated Bayern Munich 72:85 in the German league.
Alba came out with her hand on the top and improved her balance in the domestic league to seven wins versus a single loss. In the Euroleague, the Germans who will host Maccabi Tel Aviv recorded only six victories, but as mentioned tonight they defeated the Bavarians who started the European season excellently with 11 victories.
Although her coach stuck with Corona and she suffered from a very lacking roster, Alba did the job thanks to Luis Olinda scoring 17 points. Italian Simona Pontcio contributed 12 and Jason Granger added 11 points and 10 assists.
