Studying growth trends
“W.It examines growth trends in S-gene target failure (SGTF) and non-SGTF case numbers at the local area level across England, and shows that the Variant of Concern (VOC) has higher mobility than the lines non-VOC, even if the VOC is of latent or different generation time. The available SGTF data show a trend in the age-related proportion of reported cases, with a greater proportion of under-20s among reported VOCs than non-VOC cases, ”the study says saying.
The new research, however, does not contradict previous studies which found that the new snoring did not have a higher mortality rate and that routine vaccines will be effective against it.
Break point
In the meantime, the intensive care association released a statement saying intensive care workers in the UK are on the verge of collapse.
“Intensive care units (ICUs) are under real pressure while continuing to care for the sickest COVID-19 patients as well as providing care to other critically ill patients in need of intensive care. We see news reports that the number of ICU beds is running out. Beds are not the issue, the issue is the lack of staff to look after these sick patients. A bed does not care for a patient, it is the team of doctors, nurses, allied health professionals, advanced practitioners, pharmacists and health care scientists who will fight to keep you alive, “the note said.
The news added that the country is in the midst of a second wave of diseases with 53,135 new COVID-19 cases reported on 29 December 2020 by the Department of Health and Social Care and that there is a high risk that staff of intensive care units could go through it.
