The US releases 13 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines; 4.2 million managed

WASHINGTON: The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said it had delivered 4,225,756 first doses of COVID-19 vaccines in the country as of Saturday morning (January 2) and dispensed 13,071,925 doses.

The amount of vaccine doses circulated and the number of people receiving the first dose for both Moderna and Pfizer / BioNTech, vaccines are as high as 9m ET on Saturday, the group said.

According to what was posted on December 30, the group had dispensed 2,794,588 doses of the vaccines and dispensed 12,409,050 doses.

A total of 2,217,025 vaccine doses were dispensed for use on long-term care facilities and 282,740 people in the facilities received their first dose, the group said.

The group also reported 20,061,818 cases of new coronavirus, an increase of 168,637 cases from the previous census, and reported that the number of deaths had increased from 2,428 to 346,925.

The CDC reported the full account of cases of the respiratory disease known as COVID-19, caused by a new coronavirus, at 4pm ET Friday against its previous report published on 31 December.

The CDC figures do not necessarily reflect cases reported by individual states.
