SIR MARTIN, Fla. – GETTING READY TO 3 PM:
State and local leaders from across the Treasury Coast plan to hold a press conference on Saturday afternoon to speak to the a new coronavirus strain found in Martin County this week.

The B117 strain, which experts say is more contagious than the more common variant of the coronavirus, was first identified by Florida health officials Thursday night.
The Florida Department of Health said the person with the new strain in his 20s has no travel history.

The Centers for Disease Control said there is no evidence that new COVID-19 modifications are causing more serious illness or increased risk of death.
Toby Overdorf, state representative of R-Palm City, said leaders will provide an update on vaccine supply at a news conference Saturday.
