For the first time in Danny Abdia’s NBA career, he (and we) can really smile after the final buzzer sounds. Abdia played 27 minutes in Washington’s 109: 130 debut victory over Minnesota away, impressing with 11 points at 60% off the arc, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals and the highest plus-minus index in the game, 32+.
“Abdia is above and beyond anything we expected,” the team star admitted CreatedBucket Bill After the victory. “It’s amazing to see how balanced he is. Nothing bothers him, he asks a lot of questions, even when he came here we were told he was a man of a million questions. Danny scores great threes and for Rocky he has the skills of a pro. He plays basketball the right way.”
Also the Wizards coach Scott Brooks Complimented at the end: “Danny is a really good basketball player. He took another step tonight in his young career. I love him, his competitiveness, his desire to get better and the questions he keeps asking. He picks things up so quickly in relation to someone 19 years old.”
Following Brooks and Bill’s remarks about Abdia’s questions and learning, in the opening minutes in front of the Wolves we were given a vivid example of this. Russell Westbrook may not have played, but he continued to take the rookie under his wing and explained things to him from the bench. Watch>
Russell Westbrook is not going to play in back-to-backs, but he can still and will coach. Talking to Deni Avdija here, great. pic.twitter.com/tba2ox66QS

Abdia referred to the victory at the press conference as well as his role as a playmaker, after proving to the Americans that he could certainly be one. “I love being a playmaker, I always loved it,” he said Abdia. “I like to deliver on the floor because tall players are easier to catch. We needed that win. Remember what I said, we will be very good. I am optimistic about this team.”
The rookie continued: “Everyone has to be patient. We are great players, we have great talent but sometimes it takes time for things to connect. We have a new superstar on the team, I’m also new, it takes time. You can’t expect magic and a 0: 7 balance. We We will lose games but in the end we will become a team and that is what is important. We know we are good. ”
