Israel and Saudi Arabia are pressuring President Trump to take military action in Iran before ending his term in office in the last third of January, the Arab newspaper Dar al-Hayat, published in London, reported this morning (Thursday).
The report is based on unknown American sources quoted in the article as confirming to the newspaper that since Joe Biden’s victory in the US election and the understanding in Jerusalem that the emerging Biden administration intends to reach a new nuclear deal with Tehran, “Israeli and Saudi officials have put heavy pressure on President Trump To launch a military operation and attack the facilities of Iran’s military nuclear program. ”
The report claims that the breach of the agreement by the Iranians, who recently passed in parliament legislation their decision to enrich uranium to a level of 20%, constitutes a cause for a US military attack.
According to the report, citing senior officials in Washington, the possibility that an American attack on Iran that would thwart the election of President-elect Biden and his people to reach a new and improved nuclear agreement with Tehran, has been discussed in recent weeks between Saudi and Israeli security officials in secret meetings. Prime Minister Netanyahu, Saudi Crown Prince Ben Salman and US Secretary of State Pompeo. According to the same American sources quoted in the report, those meetings were in the knowledge and support of senior Washington officials.
The report also said that in contrast to the Saudi-Israeli pressure coercion on the Trump administration to launch an attack on Iran, representatives from the United Arab Emirates did not take part in the meetings held in the speech, despite a request sent to them from Israel and Saudi Arabia.
According to the report, the emirates have also refrained from taking a stand before the US administration regarding the need for a military attack on Iran, due to Abu Dhabi’s unwillingness to further deteriorate its relations with Tehran, which are already in a slump.
