Man City return to training after the club’s COVID-19 revolution

(Reuters) – Manchester City’s first team return to training on Wednesday after the COVID-19 revolution forced them to close their facilities and cancel Monday’s game at Everton, the Premier League club said .

City reported a number of positive issues in their squad Monday – days after striker Gabriel Jesus and defender Kyle Walker tested positive – forcing the league to postpone their game at Goodison Park.

“The entire COVID-19 bubble was tested yesterday, and so far no positive cases have been revealed,” City said in a statement here.

“The first team training buildings have been thoroughly cleaned over the past 48 hours, and most of these facilities will be closed, with only the necessary work around training starting.”

City have their next game at Chelsea on Sunday and the club said the bubble will be tested further this week with the results following the next steps.

Earlier on Wednesday, Tulham Hotspur ‘s Fulham league game which was due to start at 1800 GMT was postponed due to the COVID-19 revolution at the West London club.
