Level-Boss Boss Teases 2021 Advertisement, Says he likes Cyberpunk 2077

Professor LaytonLevel-5

Sorry for this moment of thematic suggestion in a news story, but Level-5 is one of the best studios out there. They brought us our beloved mystery solver, under pressure, Professor Layton, as well as that rare gem Fantasy Life, and in some way succeeded in improving it Ni No Kuni, Yo-Kai Guard, and the Inazuma eleven all series in the race of the 22-year career. That’s a lot of great games for one studio!

However, the Japanese studio began scaling back its American offices back in 2019, and closed down completely in 2020, with a source confirming that this meant “no plans in the future ”for Level-5 games coming to the West anytime soon. It was the last Level-5 game to make it over to the 2018 title Snack World: The Dungeon Crawl, who came to the West earlier this year, and locally Yo-Kai Guard 4 was announced for Switch, but no release date was given.

Speaking to a Japanese game site, 4Gamer, president of Level-5 Akihiro Hino spoke about the company’s plans for 2021. In a translation provided by The Gamer, Hino states that Level-5 ” unpublished new work, ”as well as talking about his advanced experience with Projekt Red’s CD Cyberpunk 2077. He has spent 60 hours with the Projekt CD game so far and has not fallen wrong from any bad bugs, but admits that was not true for everyone.

However, they are not ready to say more about the new game. “I can’t talk about the details yet,” Hino says, “but we’re moving forward gradually, so be sure to check it out.”

Since the new game – whatever it is – is unlikely to be localized to English, we may use that headstart to start learning Japanese. Can’t be that hard, right?
